The last song Alex and I made together. Alex sent over an instrumental demo with no other info except the working title; "Lighthouse Legacy". The tune sounded (sounds) very retro pop, but with imperfect bouncy nylon string guitars . He said the title came from the realisation at 59 years old that all of the street-names in the 'bit' of Glasgow where he grew up were named after navigational artefacts in the seas around Scotland. He had never made the connection, despite having become a Fellow of the Royal Instute of Navigation. From this and other conversations about his adolescence, I wrote the lyric and a melody. Alex lost his long battle with Cancer a few months later, so the song is now an epitaph to a fine chap.
