A song inspired by a certain individual. When this song was started, he was running for his first US Presidential term. Alex Smith supplied the basic musical shape and the phrase 'Opportunity'. I wrote a verse or so, but was too busy with my day job to finish it, so Alex completed a version with one of his other collaborators, Bert Keith. It went a different way to how I was thinking, and I never really liked it, even though Bert sounded very much the part on it. A few years later and the protagonist was running for another term. Also, we were (and are) witnessing the emergence of the psychopathic autocrat as an archetype for political leadership, so I got down to finishing the song (without Alex, who had died a couple of years earlier). I am proud of this song, but sad about it's existence.
